eThekwini Municipality hosted an Energy Efficiency Awards ceremony to celebrate young people and schools that participated in our competition for demonstration of innovative approaches to conserve energy at school or at home.
All the entries were so inspiring, our youngsters are brilliant 
. We are now planning to maintain and expand this engagement with the schools with the objective of having climate change and energy literary included in school curricula. Young people need to be capacitated to be able to understand their own vulnerability to climate change and how to survive during climate change and other disasters.
Moreover, we want to start assembling a team of Youth Climate Champions that will be capacitated to be part of climate change decision making, come up with solutions that will be suitable for the youth stakeholder group. Very exciting times ahead.
